The Burren Centre

The Burren Centre and The Kilfenora Ceili Band Parlour.

The Burren Centre exhibition “A Walk-Through Time” will stimulate and inform all who visit.  The story of the Burren unfolds through a chorological series of audio, visual and tactile effects, models, slides, artefacts and information panels.  These display segments covey both visual and audio impressions that are designed to provide an effective understanding of the Burren experience. The exhibition is so designed as to make provision for complete wheelchair access throughout. The modern presentation techniques and technologies are integrated to create a ‘virtual reality’ perception of the Burren landscape.  The central 3D map of the Burren is animated by the most advanced technology available to date and an extensive range of cartographical information can be summoned up at a touch of a button through the interactive console attached. An 12min. documentary by world renowned environmentalist Mr. Eamonn de Buitlear outlines the history and evolution of the unique environment of the Burren. True to the spirit of the European Community we offer our excellent presentation in German, Dutch, Italian and French. This includes our audio-visual display and the exhibition.
