- Portumna Castle
Well worth a visit: Portumna Castle is a semi-fortified house in Portumna, County Galway, Ireland. It was built in the early 17th century by the 4th Earl of Clanricarde, Richard Burke.

- Brigit's Garden
This is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity in Ireland. The project was set up by Jenny Beale out of her passion for nature and education.

- St Brendans Cathedral Clonmacnoise

This is an incredible old Cathedral, try walking around this Cathedral several times to really get a feel for it, see the many historic carvings, a photographers dream. Even the surrounding courtyard is filled with amazing statues. Well worth a visit.

- The Battle of Aughrim (Irish: Cath Eachroma) was the decisive battle of the Williamite War in Ireland. It was fought between the Jacobite Irish Army and the forces of William III on 12 July 1691 (old style, equivalent to 22 July new style), near the village of Aughrim, County Galway.

The battle was one of the more bloody recorded fought on Irish soil – over 7,000 people were killed. It meant the effective end of Jacobitism in Ireland, although the city of Limerick held out until the autumn of 1691
