Victorian and contemporary architecture combine at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. In the modern exhibition galleries, objects, rare archive photography and film explore Ireland’s rural past and an almost vanished but recent way of life.Next to this, a Victorian Gothic mansion overlooks gardens, parkland and woodland.Admission is free.
Highlights include Straw, Hay and Rushes, exploringexceptional crafting traditions, and Life in the Community, which depicts a year-in-the-life of our rural ancestors.
The museum offers a year-round programme of workshops, talks and tours for all ages and a changing programme of temporary exhibitions on historical and contemporary themes.
There is also a café and gift shop onsite.
The hours of business for all sites have changed to:
Tuesday to Saturday 10am - 5pm
Sunday and Monday 1pm - 5pm
Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday
