Derrynane House, the family home of Daniel O’Connell, showcases The Liberator’s life and lasting impact on Irish culture, human rights and democracy. The original demesne landscape is set within Derrynane National Historic Park and covers over 120 hectares with extensive woodlands, informal gardens, spectacular coastline, archaeology, architectural features and internationally protected wildlife and habitats.
Derrynane is situated in the core zone of the Kerry Dark Sky Reserve, one of three Gold Tier Reserves in the world. Derrynane has a Green Flag award for meeting the highest international standards of quality, management, amenities and sustainability in public green spaces.
